Damage Assessment:
»Heavy surface soil to recto and verso
»Vertical fold thru entire center of paper support, top to bottom edge
»Heavy mat burn/acidity stain all around image
»Top edge of paper folded over and secured to verso with kraft tape
»Acidity stain to right side of vertical fold
»Foxing to recto and verso in multiple locations
»Very old masking tape residue to verso in multiple locations
»Kraft tape on verso in multiple locations
»Thin paper mending strips to verso along right side of center fold
»Several small discolorations to verso
»Small tears to left and right edges

Conservation Treatment:
»Manually removed masking tape residue from verso at all locations
»Removed kraft tape from verso at all locations with moisture
»Removed old mending strips from verso at center fold with moisture
»Surface cleaned recto and verso with kneaded erasure
»Deacidified print in bath of alkaline solution
»Locally reduced foxing spots and acidity stains with dilute bleaching solution
»Mended top and center folds with Japanese paper and starch paste
»Mended lower corners and small tears to edges with Japanese paper and starch past
»Flattened overall between blotters
